Portraits

"A good portrait is a photograph that makes you feel something about the person in it."

(Gregory Heisler, American photographer)

Corporate

These photos were taken of some employees of a client company for a fashion competition. I wanted to capture the images in keeping with the client's style, so black and white with strong but subtle contrasts, using what's known as "Rembrandt lighting" in photography. The photos were also edited into a color version for use elsewhere within the organization.

Dance

For this project, I had to chronicle the opening of a cultural hub in Palermo dedicated to dance. Together with the project's founder, who is also the subject of the photographs, we chose to bring dance to the streets of the city, capturing its movements in the Sicilian capital's most iconic locations: Mondello, Palazzo Florio, and the Zisa Castle.

Cosplay

As a geek, I couldn't miss out on cosplayer portraits. Cosplay is an art form in which one dresses up and plays a character, real or fictional: the name combines the words "costume" and "player," meaning "one who plays with costumes." What makes this practice special is that every detail of the costume is handcrafted by the cosplayer themselves, who must juggle tailoring, building weapons, armor, and gadgets of all kinds.
